Chocolate Coffee Mousse

Introduction – This is a family classic dinner party dessert my mom used to make for her guests during the 70’s era! It speaks decadence and true sweet satisfaction with the twist of a coffee infusion! Made in advance for true convenience and ending your meal with a stamp of ‘WOW’!

 Recipe

Serves 4

Ingredients 

300g milk chocolate

5 eggs separated

1 teaspoon butter

2 tablespoons strong coffee (room temperature)

Whipped cream

Garnish (cherries, nuts, mint leaves, cocoa powder)

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter preferably over a double boiler or in the microwave at 30 second intervals, cool for 1 minute

  2. Stir in the coffee and egg yolks combining well

  3. Whip the egg whites until stiff

  4. Fold into the chocolate mixture carefully

  5. Spoon into glasses and garnish

  6. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving

  7. Voila! Impressed guests! Dessert is served!
